A friend with a child in HS in the USA has written to me and asked for recommendations for European American books that could be placed in his daughters high school. Do you have any suggestions?

    Dear [Removed],

My daughter, [Removed], just stated the 10th grade at [Removed] H.S.( 90%
    Asian, 5% Negro, 3% European-American) in [Removed].

My concern is with her course,"Ethnic Literature" and  the mandatory reading
list and esssays on "Of mice and men"," Hear my voice", "the lone ranger and
tonto fistfight in heaven" and "black boy" which is singled out and
    scheduled for extensive study.

My concerns and fears are with the obligatory liberal bent, the socialist
bent and the racist bent against "Whites" which I am sure will be the
    outcome.

Do you have any recommendations for alternative books that could be
    considered for "Ethnic Literature"?

Your intelligent input would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
